What's Love Got to do with it?

My children, our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action. (1 John 3:18)


And now I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. (John 13:34)


LOVE-  It is talked about  310 times in the Bible. It is the reason God gave us Jesus. Because He loved us.  God's action saved us from hell. Pulled us from the being separated from Him for eternity.  Jesus said to LOVE one another. 

Jesus replied, “‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” (Matt 22:37)


Notice the red letter from Jesus himself. It was SO important for us to understand that He specifically told us to  LOVE. God and Others. He did not specify WHO.. He said LOVE.  Love does not see skin color, religion, economic back ground, job title. 
LOVE is LOVE. 
This does not mean 'coexist'.. kneel down to others and not serve the LORD YOUR GOD. This mean LOVE. No judgement No walking by someone in need. No 'i will pray for you' and then forget all about them. This is an action! A doing word. 
Love is not a noun. It is a verb. 
James tells us to not just be hearers of the word but to DO. That there is no faith in God without action. And in the following verse he says....  Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world. (James 1:26-27)



Why? Because LOVE , Care, Kindness IS AN ACTION. Jesus spent time with tax collectors, the lowest of the low. And He LOVED them.  He took care of everyone that came to Him. 

Beloved I challenge you. What is your gift? How will you make LOVE an action???
WILL you clean out your closet and get some of your abundance of clothes and give some to the poor? WILL you sit in a nursing home with a perfect strange and play cards with them? WILL you go to the store and pick up some food and water and put them in bags and pass them out to the homeless and hungry? WILL you go to an orphanage and show children with out mothers or fathers the LOVE of our GOD? WILL you knock on your neighbors door with a meal? WILL you stop and talk to others and tell them about JESUS our Savior? WILL you select a tangible thing. ...Some thing you can put your hands on. AND be DOERS of the word. LOVE. 

Jesus spoke on Love more than anything. HE sacrificed Himself because OF LOVE. God so loved us. While we were yet sinners. He gave us Jesus. Who died for us. No Greater love than this!! 

If we do not radically transform OUR own hearts to go out and speak HIS message... Not your pastor's... Not your momma's...  The message of JESUS CHRIST. Then it was all for nothing. We are commanded to do so. Will you do that with me today Beloved? 
Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. (Philippians 2:12)  The Result?? The over flow of LOVE that you were shown! Spilling over into the lives of others.
